Weaving projects and workshops for children and adults.

Julia has run creative weaving projects for school children that link into the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence, demonstrated at several Craft Scotland ‘Meet your Maker’ events and run children’s classes at Art in Action and the Edinburgh Book Festival.  She has also worked with adults and young people with mental illness and other long term conditions.

‘Julia has a very innovative and lively approach to taking weaving into the classroom. Her use of different techniques both inspires and captivates the imagination. Julia brings with her an exciting mix of traditional skills and contemporary practice. Her thoughtful and energetic attitude and passion for her craft shines through. This enables positive engagement and skill development with diverse abilities and audiences. By the end of the project there was a fabulous sense of achievement and a desire to take the learning further’.
