Mon 25 September, 10:00 am – Sun 8 October, 5:00 pm
Project open to the public for weekends of 30 Sept/1 Oct, 7 & 8 Oct 2017
The Silo, Cupar Trading Estate, Cupar
This project explores Craft within Fife’s farming landscape with an exhibition and drop in sessions.
‘Taking inspiration from Scotland’s Themed Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology 2017, the project will look at three inland crafts through the eyes of contemporary craft artists from Fife and beyond who are re-inventing methods of design and production.
Fife Folk Museum in nearby Ceres features traditional and historical crafts associated with a rural environment and provided the source for the choice of crafts to be included in the project.
Work by the selected artists – John Creed (blacksmith), Chalk (plasterwork) and Julia Complin (weaving) – will be exhibited in a shipping container brought for the event next to Cupar’s iconic agricultural silo which is now run as an arts venue by Silo Projects.
During the week craft artists will also work with local schools, Stratheden Hospital and volunteers at Fife Folk Museum to introduce local people to the knowledge and skills of their craft’.
Quota from Fife Contemporary website. See link for further details.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who came to say hello at my Art in Action stand this year. It was my best ever show and I nearly sold out of the work I took with me. I only wish I had more! I met some lovely people who made some very kind comments about my work, which has inspired me to continue to follow my instinct and passion for colour and design in hand woven fabrics.

Thank you to everyone who came to visit me and my son at Art in Action in the grounds of Waterperry House in Oxfordshire. This was my first time exhibiting and teaching at the show and I had a wonderful time. The 4 day show was hard work zipping between taking children’s weaving classes and attending my stand, but the response to my work was very good and I thank everyone who bought from me.
